We can facilitate getting short codes (4 digit codes) from both the operators in UAE and assign to your account for receiving SMS from customers. In your communication, you can ask the customers to send an SMS to this short code.
Using short codes, only customers having Etisalat or DU mobile numbers can respond to these numbers. If you want international customers to send message, then we will need to go for Long numbers.
Below are the various activities that will be carried out by Precise in order to get short code for UAE.
- We get the same short code from both the operators – Etisalat and DU
- This is only available in UAE
- The short codes are then configured on our server to receive SMS
- SMS received is first stored in a database and linked to your SMS account
- If you provide an API for us to push this back to your system, then the same can be implemented where the moment SMS is received on our server, it will be pushed to your backend system using the API
- You can check the incoming SMS from SMS portal www.tobeprecisesms.com or that is received at the backend
- Depending on requirement, we can program to take certain action on the received SMS like replying with a thank you message, separating the content into meaningful data, or providing information based on the requirement
- Short codes can be dedicated or shared. Dedicated short code will belong to you throughout the contract period and all SMS that are received will be stored in your account. Shared short codes are those where we will define a code to identify the incoming message and only those messages that starts with this code are stored against your account. Customers sending the SMS has to first mention this code followed by the actual message.
- Costing for shared code will be lower compared to dedicated short code
- Timeline for arranging a dedicated short code and setup will vary between 8 to 15 working days
- Timeline for shared code setup will be 2 to 3 working days
